We are committed to helping the population we serve, and our communities, achieve optimum health and enjoy the best quality of life possible.What you'll doThe Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) and/or LPN, Advanced, provides basic nursing care; provide support and assistance by performing clerical, administrative assistant and clinical responsibility under the direction of the Employee Health, Registered Professional Nurse, and Employee Health Physician. The LPN functions as part of the interdisciplinary health care team.Provides ongoing nursing care individualized to the department needsPerform clerical duties as assignedCollaborate with all Bassett Healthcare NetworksAssist with documentation of Workers compensation and other necessary documentsCommunicate with RN on services provided to personal when neededProvides support personnel according to department guidelines, as measured by co-worker feedback and managerial observationIdentifies practice problems and consistently seeks solutions through appropriate communication channelsPerforms, maintains and documents testing/supplies and equipment in accordance with established policies and proceduresOrder office supplies as neededAssists with various outreach clinics such as vaccines clinicsRefers personal with identifiable limitations and/or health risks to RN, and Employee Health PhysicianTrends employee illnesses/injuries to identify safety and health issuesPerforms an immunization update and determines new personal immunity to immunizations as per regulatory standardsPerform TB screening for all new personal, using a TST / QuantiFeron Gold / T-spot or documenting previous exposure and assuring that the new employee if free of symptomsPerform Fit Testing per OSHA standardsAdvocates for personal to ensure that care preserves and protects the patient's autonomy, dignity and rightsDelivers care in a non-judgmental and non-discriminatory manner that is sensitive to employee patient diversity, 100% of the time, as measured by supervisory observationMaintains current licensure, certification, and competenciesProvides proof of current BLS validation to supervisorCompletes required departmental policy by providing documented evidence of completion to supervisorProvides to supervisor evidence of completion all required annual training and competency validationPractices within the New York State-defined LPN scope of practice 100% of the time, as determined by co-worker feedback and direct supervisory observationAcquires and maintains current knowledge and skills in his/her area of practiceFunctions within the L.P.N. scope of practiceAdherence to legal requirements pertinent to employee health and safetyParticipates in required number of hours educational activity related to job function (LPN: 4-8; LPN Advanced: 8-12) annually and provides documented evidence of attendance or activity to supervisorPerforms similar or related duties as requested or directedPerforms other duties as requested and observed by HR Employee Health Business PartnerOrganizational Responsibilities:Uses supplies and institutional resources in a financially responsible mannerMaintains an orderly, clean and safe work environment at all timesMaintains appropriate, neat, clean and professional personal appearance, including but not limited to required attire such as uniforms and safety apparelDemonstrates a positive, pleasant and friendly attitude at all timesUses flexibility, innovation and the highest of ethical standards while conducting any businessDemonstrates collaborative practice, support and respect for each team memberParticipates in departmental meetingsDemonstrates initiative in expanding and sharing knowledgeCommunicates with coworkers while adhering always to hospital policies for the protection of the privacy of employee health information and confidentialityCommunicates necessary information to HR Employee Health Business Partner / HR Director of Total Rewards in support of departmental and facility standards and policiesWhat we need from youEducation:* Graduation from a Practical Nursing Program, requiredExperience:* New Graduate, preferred* Minimum 1 year previous healthcare experience, preferredLicensure/Certifications:* Current NYS Licensure as a Practical Nurse, required* BLS Certification within 6 months of hire, requiredSkills:Multi-TaskingComputer SkillsTime ManagementMaintain ConfidentialityCommunicationClinical SkillsResourcefulnessInitiating ProjectsPhysical Requirements:Medium Work - Exerting up to 50 lbs. for force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force constantly to move objectsOccasional crouching, kneeling, lifting, pulling, pushing, stoopingFrequent reachingConstant typing/clerical/dexterity, grasping, hearing, repetitive motion, seeing/monitor/computer use, standing, talking, visual acuity (color, depth, perception), walking, fit testingHazards:* Occasional chemical, electrical* Frequent bodily fluids/bloodborne exposureWorking Conditions:* Occasional extreme temperatures, odorsTravel:* Occasional Travel - The job may require travel from time- to-time, but not on a regular basisTotal RewardsBassett Healthcare Network's commitment to our employees includes benefit programs carefully designed with the needs and values of all our employees in mind.
