Position Overview One of our Partners in Alaska is seeking a locum tenens OB/GYN Physician to support a Critical Access Hospital providing essential outpatient OB/GYN and Labor & Delivery services in Ketchikan, Alaska. This role combines scheduled clinic coverage with 24-hour call coverage, where the 24-hour call period includes the same day's 8-hour clinic shift.Based on current locum tenens OB/GYN market data for rural and remote assignments with mixed clinic and 24-hour call responsibilities, the provider pay for this assignment ranks in the Top 15% nationally. Assignment Highlights Start Date: April 14, 2026End Date: October 12, 2026Duration: 26 weeksClinic Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (8 hours)Call Structure:24-hour call blocks inclusive of the 8-hour clinic dayTypically 2-3 consecutive call days with clinic days in betweenApproximately 7 call days per month1st or 2nd call for Labor & Delivery and EDSetting: Inpatient and outpatientBeds: 25 total (5 Labor & Delivery)Patient Volume:Clinic: 10 patients/dayL&D: 0-2 deliveries/daySupport: Second OB/GYN on call 24/7, ED and hospitalist coverageEMR: EpicReason for Coverage: Gap in coverage Job Responsibilities Provide full-scope general OB/GYN care in clinic and hospital settingsCover Labor & Delivery and ED OB consultsPerform rounding and admissionsRespond to callback when activatedAssist with surgical cases only when an additional hand or first assistant is neededCollaborate with nursing, ED, hospitalist, and specialty teamsMaintain complete and timely documentation in Epic Skills & Experience Strong experience with full-scope general OB/GYNComfortable managing Labor & Delivery and 24-hour callPrior rural or critical access hospital experience preferred Qualifications MD or DOBoard Certified in Obstetrics & GynecologyActive Alaska medical license and DEA required at submission (no IMLC)BLS requiredRecent clinical activity within the past 24 months consistent with requested privileges
