Heavy Equipment Operator – Manure Lagoon Processing Job description Sky Hook Services, dedicated to the agriculture industry. We are a specialized environmental services company focused on dredging and processing manure lagoons for dairy farms. Our work helps improve farm efficiency, reduce environmental impact, and manage nutrient recovery SUMMARY OF JOB PURPOSE We are seeking a skilled a person who has worked in agriculture and has experience operating equipment to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating heavy equipment during lagoon processing projects and assisting with the operation of a remote controlled dredge connected to a solids removal pump. Monitor and run processing equipment May work in two man or solo operation upon completion of training 12-hour shift schedule, with expected overtime SCOPE AND ACCOUNTABILITY Follow general policies and procedures Inform supervisor promptly of any issues Stay on location at all times to maintain oversight of the unit ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Safely operate an excavator for lagoon dredging and material handling Set up and operate hydraulic power units to drive solids removal pumps Perform daily equipment inspections, routine maintenance checks, and report any mechanical issues Ensure daily operations are in compliance with all regulations Work with project supervisors to ensure safe and efficient operations on dairy farm sites Assist with general field operations as needed REQUIRED COMPETENCIES / PREREQUISITES Proven experience operating equipment in agricultural, construction, or similar settings Strong teamwork and communication skills Basic reading, writing, math and computer skills Willingness to travel to dairy farms within the region PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Light to moderate physical effort required Must be able to lift up to 50-100 pounds Required to walk, reach and move about the unit Ability to work outdoors in variable weather conditions Work in/around mechanical, industrial and electrical equipment Work in/around trucks Must be able to climb a ladder Job Type: Full-time Job Type: Full-time Pay: $15.00 - $22.00 per hour Work Location: In person
