This position plays an important role in supporting the academic, behavioral, attendance, and social-emotional success of students through proactive intervention, relationship building, and collaboration with staff, families, and community resources. Position DetailsPosition: Student Success CoordinatorLocation: Tecumseh Junior High SchoolPosition Type: ClassifiedDays & Hours: 40 Hours per week, Monday through Friday when school is in sessionRate: $21.65 per hourBenefits: Health, Dental, Vision Insurance & PTOSchool Year: 2026 2027Start Date: August 5, 2026 Position Summary The Student Success Coordinator serves as a student-centered support leader focused on improving student engagement, behavior, attendance, academic success, and overall school climate. This position works collaboratively with students, staff, families, and community partners to support at-risk students, strengthen relationships, and promote a positive and inclusive learning environment. The Student Success Coordinator will continuously seek, implement, and maintain initiatives that enhance the student experience at Tecumseh Junior High School with a focus on student growth and success. Preference may be given to candidates with experience in student services, intervention coordination, behavior support, counseling collaboration, attendance initiatives, restorative practices, MTSS supports, or instructional leadership. Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesProvide management assistance to the school receptionist and front office as neededRespond to requests for student support and assist with removing students from class when necessaryMonitor security cameras and assist administration with hallway and campus behavior concernsDevelop and implement strategies and school/community-based initiatives to support at-risk studentsBuild positive relationships with parents and guardians to strengthen communication and family supportSupervise lunch periods and maintain a safe, orderly cafeteria environmentSupervise and manage Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday detentions from 2:50 3:45 p.m.Provide MTSS Tier 2 and Tier 3 supports as directed by administration, including:Collaborating on and assigning student interventionsSupporting students academically in basic math and ELA skillsMonitoring student progress and intervention effectivenessProvide mentoring support by identifying, assigning, and supporting mentors for students struggling behaviorally or academicallyServe as a classroom behavior resource for teachers and staffAssist in maintaining consistent classroom and facility-wide behavior expectationsSupport anti-bullying awareness initiatives and student advocacy effortsCollaborate with administration and counselors to identify and secure meaningful diversity and inclusion training opportunitiesProvide morning arrival and afternoon dismissal supervisionAssist teachers, counselors, and administrators with student transition initiatives:Sixth Grade to Seventh GradeEighth Grade to Ninth GradeAttend field trips as a chaperone and assist with student supervision and behavior managementParticipate in registration and enrollment support for identified at-risk studentsIdentify students with failing grades, attendance concerns, or missing assignments and connect them with supports such as:MentorsHomework assistance programsCommunity-based support servicesAssist with the design and implementation of summer transition programsMaintain regular communication with teachers regarding factors impacting student performanceEncourage students to explore innovative and nontraditional learning methodsAdvocate for students needing opportunities to complete overdue assignments and demonstrate mastery of contentAssist with the development and implementation of social-emotional learning initiatives for at-risk students and students in crisisPerform all other duties as assigned by administration QualificationsAssociate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree preferredExperience working with adolescents in an educational, counseling, youth development, or student support setting preferredStrong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skillsAbility to build positive relationships with students, staff, and familiesAbility to work collaboratively as part of a student support teamDemonstrated commitment to student-centered practices and equitable support systemsExperience with MTSS, restorative practices, mentoring, or behavior interventions preferred About Tecumseh Junior High School Tecumseh Junior High School serves students in grades 7 8 and is committed to creating a supportive, engaging, and student-centered learning environment that prepares students for success in high school and beyond.
