F&A - Accountant
As part of the Centralized Accounting team, this individual will support the Operational Accounting pillar. He/She will report directly to Julia Tinoco, F&A, Associate Director.
Performs monthly and quarterly financial close activities including preparation of month-end journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliations.
Examines trial balances and transactional level detail to identify and resolve issues and develop a more in depth understanding of the business as necessary.
Analyzes balance sheet and income statement account fluctuations over multiple periods to identify trends and better assist segment teams with management of the business.
Assists with implementation of any new accounting pronouncements and provides feedback to commercial teams as to how these pronouncements will impact their business.
Identify and help to eliminate non-value-added activities within the team.
Establishes new controls and procedures as needed to enhance accounting control environment.
Ensures that financial reporting requirements to meet Duracell internal reporting deadlines are met.
Ensures compliance with Duracell’s Standard Practice Instructions, Sarbanes Oxley internal controls, and FCPA.
A ssist on Corporate FP&A; Budget, Fcst, Outlook process.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
CPA preferred but not required.
Experience in accounting role, including month and quarter close activities.
Working knowledge of SAP
Knowledge of finance and accounting principles, including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems and experience streamlining reporting for more efficient and effective results.
Work requires strong professional written and verbal communication skills.
Requires willingness to work extended hours during times of heavy workload (e.g., month and quarter close and budget).
