Opportunity: RN - Med Surg Tele Job Details: • Work in medical telemetry unit specializing in post cardiac catheterization care and cardiac drip management • Patient ratio of 6:1 for days, nights, and weekends • 12-hour orientation provided • Weekend coverage required • Float to sister facilities as needed (agency first pull) • Care for adult and geriatric patients with diagnoses including chest pain, CAD, diabetes, COPD exacerbations, stroke, hypertension, and cardiac arrhythmias • Perform pre and post angiogram/angioplasty care (no sheath pulls), assist with pacemaker/AICD procedures, and LINQ recorder placements • Manage patients with chest tubes, central line catheters, and wound vacs • Required to interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias using telemetry monitoring • Handle cardiac drips without titration for blood pressure management • Support general surgical procedures including EGD, colonoscopy, cholecystectomy, and wound debridement • Must have 2 years of acute care experience and telemetry experience • Required certifications: BLS (AHA required) • Preferred certifications: ACLS, NIH • Must live more than 65 miles from facility (no local travelers accepted) • Compact or Louisiana license required upon submission • Unit accepts first-time travelers • May be assigned to Emergency Team during facility emergencies with expectation to remain until event passes Facility: This medical center operates a 24-bed medical telemetry unit focusing on cardiac care and post-procedural monitoring.
