Perched atop The Piccolo at Paso Robles Inn above the Paso Robles town square, Salina is where wild roots meet high vibes. Debuting June 2026. Charlie Palmer Collective is seeking bar backs who aspire to learn all aspects of service and work towards becoming bartenders. This opportunity works with Chef Palmer and the experienced bar team and allows the individual to grow under one of the most renowned Chef's and culinary brands in the country. Please note, this is an on-premises role that requires relocation to Paso Robles, California’s most coveted and fastest growing wine country. Description: The bar back plays an essential role in the overall success of the bar by ensuring all bar tools, products, and service areas are fully prepared and consistently maintained during every service. You will have a strong sense of urgency and a positive, team-oriented attitude, while you contribute to creating an exceptional guest experience by maintaining cleanliness, stocking inventory, and anticipating the needs of bartenders and service staff. Responsibilities: Support bartenders and service staff by maintaining a fully stocked, organized, and clean bar and BOH spaces throughout service. Restock liquor, beer, wine, mixers, garnishes, ice, glassware, and bar supplies in a timely and efficient manner. Maintain cleanliness and organization of all bar areas, including counters, sinks, storage areas, shelves, coolers, and service stations. Wash used glassware and barware promptly while ensuring all items are cleaned, polished, and properly stored. Assist with preparation of garnishes, juices, mixers, and other beverage mise en place prior to and during service. Monitor inventory levels and communicate restocking needs or shortages to bartenders and management proactively. Assist with receiving and organizing deliveries, rotating stock, and maintaining storage areas according to company standards. Support overall operational flow by anticipating bartender needs and responding quickly during high-volume service periods. Maintain open communication with restaurant managers, bartenders, and supervisors to ensure smooth and efficient operations. Actively report equipment issues, maintenance concerns, or safety hazards to management immediately. Adhere to all company, restaurant, and hotel policies and procedures throughout the execution of responsibilities. Sustain the safety and cleanliness of the property through proper handling of equipment, participation in safety procedures, and awareness of emergency protocols. Preferred Qualifications: At least 1 year of experience in a Barback or Busser position Ability to stand, walk and move around during entire shift In compliance with California laws, Responsible Beverage Service and Food Handlers Certification are required Physical Requirements: The minimum physical requirements for this position include but are not limited to: Must be able to lift and/or carry up to 40 pounds frequently to assist guests Ability to stand for extended periods of time Ability to hear, understand and communicate orally and in writing to communicate with staff, vendors and guests a normal in-person and phone conversation Ability to bend and twist, push and pull, stoop, and kneel Ascend and descend a ladder We are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
