Hillel Program Director – University of Tampa Hillels of the Florida Suncoast | Tampa, FLHillels of the Florida Suncoast is seeking a dynamic, entrepreneurial, and relationship-driven professional to serve as Program Director at the University of Tampa. This role is responsible for building and sustaining a vibrant, student-centered Jewish community rooted in engagement, leadership development, and meaningful Jewish experiences.The Program Director will work under the supervision of the Executive Director while maintaining the autonomy to shape and grow Hillel at UTampa. This is an opportunity to build, lead, and elevate Jewish life on campus while gaining hands-on experience across all aspects of Hillel operations.Core ResponsibilitiesStudent Engagement & Relationship BuildingBuild authentic, one-on-one relationships with Jewish studentsActively engage students across campus and create multiple entry points into Jewish lifeFoster a welcoming, pluralistic environment where all students feel a sense of belongingEnsure consistent outreach and follow-up with students to deepen engagementProgram Development & ExecutionPlan and execute high-quality, consistent programming including:Weekly Shabbat dinnersHoliday experiences (Rosh HaShanah, Yom Kippur, Chanukkah, Passover, etc.)Social, educational, and leadership programsMaintain a structured and forward-looking program calendarEnsure programs are student-informed, well-executed, and aligned with organizational goalsStudent Leadership DevelopmentRecruit, mentor, and support student leadersEmpower students to take ownership of initiatives and community-buildingDevelop leadership pathways for students seeking deeper involvementStrategic Vision & Campus PresenceDevelop and implement a compelling vision for Jewish life at UTampaServe as a visible and active Jewish presence on campusBuild and maintain strong relationships with university administrators, faculty, and campus partnersAdvocate for Jewish students and support a positive campus climateCommunity Engagement & CommunicationBuild relationships with parents, alumni, donors, and community stakeholdersRepresent Hillel within the Tampa Jewish community and on campusDevelop and execute marketing strategies to promote programs and increase visibilityOperations & AccountabilityManage program budgets and financial trackingMaintain organized systems for scheduling, communication, and executionCollect and track student engagement dataProvide regular updates, reports, and highlights to senior leadershipFundraising & Resource DevelopmentPartner with senior leadership to support fundraising effortsEngage donors and community members in Hillel’s workParticipate in stewardship and cultivation effortsQualificationsMinimum 2 years of relevant experience in Jewish communal work, campus engagement, or program leadershipStrong understanding of Jewish life, traditions, and communityPassion for working with college students and supporting their growthExcellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skillsAbility to take initiative, manage time effectively, and execute at a high levelProfessionalism, sound judgment, and clear boundariesCommitment to Jewish pluralism and inclusivityWillingness to work evenings, weekends, and Jewish holidays as neededWhat Success Looks LikeConsistent, high-quality programming that students attend and return toStrong relationships with a broad and diverse group of studentsA visible, respected Hillel presence on campusStudents stepping into leadership and taking ownership of their communityOrganized, forward-planned operations with clear accountabilityWhat You’ll Receive And GainThe salary range for this role is $45,000 - $60,000, commensurate with experience.
