Recruiters post a role once and receive a daily shortlist of top-matched candidates without using job boards, manual searching, or paying fees. PPLIED focuses on making hiring faster, more efficient, and accessible, and is free to use for all parties.Role DescriptionThe Software Engineer Technical Lead will guide the design, development, and delivery of core platform features that power PPLIED’s candidate matching and recruiter workflows. This full-time hybrid role is based in Seattle, WA, with the flexibility to work from home part of the week. Day-to-day responsibilities include leading backend architecture decisions, writing and reviewing production-quality code, and ensuring system reliability, performance, and security. The Technical Lead will mentor engineers, drive best practices in software development, coordinate with product and design teams, and help translate business needs into scalable technical solutions. This role also involves contributing to roadmap planning, improving development processes, and fostering a collaborative engineering culture.QualificationsStrong foundation in Computer Science, including data structures, algorithms, and system design.Proficiency in Software Development and Programming, with experience delivering production-ready applications.Hands-on expertise in Back-End Web Development, including APIs, databases, and cloud-based services.Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles and their application in modern codebases.Previous experience in a technical leadership role, such as leading projects or mentoring engineering teams.Familiarity with modern development tools, CI/CD pipelines, version control (e.g., Git), and testing practices.Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally in a hybrid environment.Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.Experience with scalable, distributed systems, cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure), and security best practices is a plus.
