Mammography Tech / Rad TechStarting salary: *** ***/hr and up (rate of pay range quoted is for 2-30 years of experience, with the ARRT RT certification and MRI certification. Pay is higher with CT certification, PLUS, when applicable; shift differentials). Be a member of the Medical Imaging team to provide clinical radiographs as directed by physicians or radiologists in accordance with established standards and practices. Be responsible for the day-to-day regulatory requirements and certification in mammography in conjunction with the Director of Imaging. Provide direct patient care and radiology services within the boundaries of local, state and federal regulations. Possess a high school diploma or GED. Successfully completed an AMA approved Radiologic Technologist training course. Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. Maintain registration with the ARRT on an annual basis. Be certified in the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist specialty of Mammography. Have at least eight hours of mammography specific training in digital mammography and eight hours of digital breast tomosynthesis specific training with recent experience working in Mammography and general Radiology. Keep current with CEU credits as required by the ARRT and Mammography specific CEU credits as required by ACR and MQSA. Demonstrated ability to lift up to 50 pounds, without self injury, as well as ability to walk and stand for prolonged periods of time, including stooping and sitting.Certification requirements: ARRT state license requirements Alaska.About the facility: South Peninsula Hospital is a 22 bed critical access hospital (CAH) located on the southern end of the Kenai Peninsula. SPH has 3 LDRP (labor, delivery, recovery, postpartum) rooms with a view overlooking Kachemak Bay and welcomes about 150 babies per year. We specialize in low-intervention birth and can provide walking epidurals, tub birth, nitrous oxide, and 1:1 nurse patient ratios for birth support. Although we are the end of the road, we have 24/7 c-section capabilities, a delightful CRNA crew, around the clock respiratory therapy, and can safely manage women with more complicated births. SPH has 3 full-time midwives, 2 obstetricians, full time respiratory therapy and a team of family practice doctors that work collaboratively with nursing staff to provide family-centered and evidenced-based care. SPH is a level 1 nursery with the ability to transfer to Providence Anchorage Medical Center, if needed. We have an amazing, friendly, collaborative, team of nurses and providers and we pride ourselves on our family-centered care and the ability and time to spend ample amounts of time supporting our patients through the birth experience. Because our birth census is variable and generally low-risk, all OB RNs are cross-trained to the medical surgical unit to take a patient assignment.
