DevOps & Test Automation Engineer
Location: Remote (U.S.) or Hybrid/In-Office in Fishers, IndianaAbout The RoleWe’re seeking a versatile DevOps/Test Automation Engineer to join our growing team. This unique hybrid position combines infrastructure management with hands-on quality and test automation work, offering the opportunity to work across the entire technology stack while maintaining and scaling our cloud infrastructure in a compliance-focused environment. As we increasingly integrate AI-powered tooling and agentic workflows into our products and engineering processes, this role also offers the chance to help shape how we orchestrate AI systems for testing, quality, and operations.ResponsibilitiesDevOps & InfrastructureDesign, implement, and maintain AWS infrastructure with focus on EC2 scalingSecurity focused: Own and coordinate security testing activities, including penetration testing, vulnerability assessments, remediation tracking, and validation of security fixes.Monitor system performance and implement automated scaling solutionsEnsure infrastructure compliance with HIPAA, SOC II, and related security standardsManage deployment pipelines and continuous integration/deployment processesImplement and maintain security best practices across all environmentsDocument infrastructure changes and maintain compliance audit trailsSupport deployment, scaling, and monitoring of AI/LLM-backed services and agentic workflows, with attention to cost, observability, and data governanceTest Automation & Quality EngineeringDesign, build, and maintain automated test suites (unit, integration, and end-to-end) for PHP/Laravel applications and VueJS/Livewire front-endsDevelop and maintain end-to-end browser automation using Playwright, Cypress, or similar frameworksIntegrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and enforce quality gates across environmentsDesign, build, and maintain AI orchestration and agentic development workflows — integrating LLM APIs, tool/function calling, and multi-step agent pipelines for tasks such as automated test generation, bug reproduction, and triageApply AI-assisted and agentic tooling to accelerate test authoring and coverage while maintaining reliability and security standardsDefine test strategy, establish coverage targets, and track quality metrics across the productInvestigate, reproduce, and document defects; collaborate with developers to drive resolutionMaintain test data, environments, and fixtures in a compliance-conscious wayParticipate in code and test reviews and contribute to technical decision-makingRequired QualificationsAWS Experience: Proven experience setting up and scaling infrastructure on AWS, particularly EC2Compliance Knowledge: Experience with HIPAA, SOC II, or similar compliance frameworksTest Automation: Proven experience building and maintaining automated test suites (unit, integration, end-to-end)Automation Frameworks: Hands-on experience with tools such as Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, PHPUnit, or similarCI/CD Integration: Experience integrating automated tests into continuous integration/deployment pipelinesStack Familiarity: Working knowledge of PHP/Laravel and VueJS/Livewire (or similar modern JavaScript frameworks) sufficient to test them effectivelyCommunication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication abilitiesOrganizational Skills: Strong project management and organizational capabilitiesSecurity Mindset: Understanding of security best practices in both infrastructure and application developmentAnalytics & Data Experience: Knowledge of business intelligence tools, data lakes, data warehousing, ETL processes, or analytics platforms (significant plus)Preferred QualificationsAI Orchestration / Agentic Development: Experience building with LLM APIs (e.g., Anthropic, OpenAI), tool/function calling, MCP, or agent frameworks; designing multi-step or multi-agent workflows; and applying agentic tooling to test generation, bug reproduction, or QAAWS certifications (Solutions Architect, SysOps Administrator, or Developer)Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation)Knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (CloudWatch, ELK stack, etc.)Experience with performance, load, or security testingBackground in healthcare technology or other regulated industriesUnderstanding of database administration and optimizationWhat to ExpectTime Allocation:25–50% DevOps/Infrastructure Management (depending on workload)50–75% Test Automation & Quality Engineering (PHP/Laravel and VueJS/Livewire stack), including AI orchestration and agentic development workWork Arrangement: Remote position with some travel expected
