Climbing Arborist/Tree Climber

J&D Tree Pros is hiring for the position of Climbing Arborist. This is a full-time position requiring 40+ hours per week as well as on-call time for emergency work. Climbers are expected to be able to safely and efficiently dismantle and prune trees according to ANSI best practices as the job requires; they are expected to have experience and expertise in manual rigging scenarios, tree felling techniques, and crane rigging/cutting. J&D encourages a growth mentality and actively seeks climbers who want to add to their skill set and train the next generation of climbers. Despite over 20 years in the tree industry, J&D continues to adapt to the best, safest work practices set by industry innovators, the ISA, and the TCIA. Work consists of crane assisted tree removal employing certified crane operators who specialize in tree work. This allows J&D to remain competitive at the residential and commercial level, year round work and plenty of room to grow at our company. We also perform manual work involving rigging, bucket trucks, and cabling/bracing systems when required. JOB REQUIREMENTS: - 2+ years of climbing experience using up to date climbing techniques. - Knowledge and implementation of ANSI standards regarding tree work. - Safety mindset regarding all aspects of tree work. - Ability to educate and communicate with clients about their trees. - physical, mental, and emotional capacity to climb every day as well as lift and carry crane timbers and drag brush when needed. - Participation in weekly safety meetings - Basic operation knowledge of mechanical equipment used in tree work. - Ability to pass drug screening. - Drivers license required (CDL preferred) - ISA Certified Arborist (preferred) - TCIA CTSP certification (preferred) - A good attitude (required!)
