Supporting these inventories through field data collection, spatial analysis, and mapping is a growing service at BETA Group, Inc. We are seeking a GIS Intern to support municipal transportation projects by assisting with data collection, GIS data development, and map production. This is a hands-on opportunity to work alongside engineers, planners, and scientists, gain real-world GIS experience, and build valuable skills through cross-training and mentorship.Responsibilities:Create eye-catching maps, graphics, and visualizations used in real client projectsAnalyze spatial data to support transportation, environmental, water, and land development projectsAssist with building and maintaining GIS databases and web mapsSupport field data collection and integrate data into GIS platformsPerform geoprocessing and basic spatial analysisCollaborate with multidisciplinary teams and learn how GIS fits into the full project lifecycleLearn new skills and contribute to project tasks and activitiesAsk lots of questions!Preferred location is BETA’s Hartford, CT office.
