Project Manager Estimator

Job Description Ideal Experience:Civil, Structural & Framing experience (single story)Plan review & take offNon-plan based, client directed scope preparation & estimatingPrimarily self-performed workTypical sub-trades involved in our projects (MEP & Steel)General DescriptionThe primary function of the Estimator is to provide accurate scope review, budgets and proposals for our construction projects. Responsibilities include plan review, scope detailing for non-plan based projects, material take off, equipment estimating, labor estimating, sub/vendor RFP, sub/vendor proposal review and scope leveling, prepare project budget, prepare project proposal & prepare change order proposals. Prepare pricing estimates for new projects as well as estimate pricing for change orders for ongoing projects.We self-perform the majority of the work we do. Experience estimating supervision, labor, material, equipment and transport costs is a must.Responsibilities As Lead EstimatorRead and understand bid instructions, bid due dates, plans, specifications & client directivesPrepare a material take off and request pricing from vendorsPrepare an equipment list & duration required for each projectEstimate Supervision, Labor And Other Job Specific RequirementsAttend client pre-bid meetings and subsequent sub/vendor meetings to determine self-performed & sub-contracted scope of workIdentify & incorporate safety controls in budgetsDevelop/maintain relationships with current & new suppliers and subcontractorsDevelop/maintain relationships with clients & general contractorsResponsible for buyout process with Project ManagerQualificationsAt least 5 years of commercial construction estimating or project management experienceMust possess the knowledge and field experience associated with Civil, Concrete, Structural & Framing work.Excellent verbal and written communication skills for dealing with clients, contractors, suppliers & company staff.Ability to read and interpret technical and complex RFPsAbility to detail the projects’ scope of work, along with any exclusions and qualifications to clearly define what is included in our pricing.Thorough knowledge of Microsoft software applications including Excel, Word, Project and Outlook
