Functional Finance Project Manager

Job Title: Functional Finance Project ManagerLocation: Washington, DC – OnsiteDuration: Long-TermExperience, Skills, and EducationProgram Manager Experience:Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.Minimum of 2 years' experience at a Project Director level, coupled with 8 years of project management experience related to engagements with the public and/or private sector or Federal, State or Local government.End-to-end project lifecycle experience utilizing Agile and Waterfall methodologies.Project Management Professional (PMP) certification with applied knowledge is mandatory.Experience with government or public sector finance preferredSkills:Strong command of PM standards and controlsExecutive level stakeholder management and influenceProgram governance, risk, and escalation managementExcellent communication and presentation skillsAbility to manage multiple complex projects concurrentlyStrategic planning and prioritization under tight timelinesHigh accountability, judgment, and decision makingProgram Coordinator Experience:Three (3) years of experience successfully managing multiple public facing projects through planning, coordination, outreach and implementation.Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred.Experience with government or public sector finance preferred.Skills:Public facing customer service and professionalismStakeholder coordination and follow up disciplineData tracking, reporting, and attention to detailProficiency in Microsoft 365 Office SuiteExcellent written and verbal communicationProblem solving and adaptabilityAbility to work independently and meet deadlinesEDUCATION:Associate or bachelor’s degree is required in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related fieldTechnical Project Manager II Experience:Minimum of 10 years of relevant experienceLead the planning, execution, and delivery of complex, cross-functional projects, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives, timelines, and budget constraints.Hands-on experience with enterprise systems integration management.Manage project scope, risks, and stakeholder expectations through structured governance, clear communication, and proactive issue resolution.Oversee and coordinate internal teams, vendors, and consultants to ensure accountability and high-quality deliverables throughout the project lifecycle.Drive continuous improvement by implementing standardized project management methodologies, tools, and performance metrics across the organizationEnd-to-end project lifecycle experience utilizing Agile and Waterfall methodologies.Experience with government or public sector finance preferred.Project Management Professional (PMP) certification with applied knowledge is mandatory.Skills:Skilled in risk mitigation and issue escalationStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsClear, concise executive level communication (written and verbal)Ability to work independently and meet deadlinesAbility to influence in a matrixed environmentAttention to detail and quality control mindsetFacilitate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial close activities and reporting.Perform cost analysis, forecasting, and financial modeling to support sound budget and program decision making.Conduct audits, reconciliations of accounts, budgets, and financial records to ensure data integrity and reporting accuracy.Experience with government or public sector finance preferred.
