Test Development Engineer
Overview
In this role, you will develop software for signal waveform preprocessing, analysis, and post-processing across diverse signal types. You will also create test software for laser diode and VCSEL electrical testing and drive automation using image processing and machine learning. Collaborating with hardware and software teams, you’ll implement solutions for manufacturing environments and continuously enhance the proprietary Finisar test suite. The work combines DSP, high-speed data processing, and cross-functional problem solving to advance test capabilities.
ResponsibilitiesDevelop software for waveform pre-processing, analysis, and post-processing across multiple signal types (including PAM4) to compute performance metricsCreate test software for electrical testing of laser diodes and VCSELsDesign and implement automated testing methodologies using image processing and machine learningCollaborate with hardware and software engineers to deploy test solutions in a manufacturing settingWork with cross-functional teams to deliver software solutions for complex problemsDrive continuous improvement of proprietary software for the Finisar test suite (C/C++, VB.Net, C#.Net, Python)
Key requirementsBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering with strong DSP foundation2-4 years of code development experience using C/C++, C#, .Net, Python, MATLAB with a focus on signal processing for high-speed data communicationsExperience with high-speed data communications and signal processing techniquesProficiency in applying signal processing techniques to high-speed data communicationsPAM4 signal processing experience is a plus but not requiredCross-functional collaborationProblem-solving mindsetContinuous improvement orientationAdvanced programming in .NET languages and PythonData analysisHardware interfacing
