Speech-Language Therapist / Pathologist

Job Description:Speech-Language PathologistBenhaven School, located in Wallingford, Connecticut, is looking for a full time Speech-Language Pathologist. Benhaven School is approved by the Connecticut State Department of Education and provides educational services and support to approximately 42 children and adolescents ages 5-22 with intellectual disability, autism and other comorbid disabilities (i.e., down-syndrome, cerebral palsy, apraxia of speech, anxiety and sleep disorders etc.). The school is a twelve-month program and with two professional development days, providing 241 days of school. The school has early dismissal 4 times per month effective 9-1-2025 for training and collaboration. The intensive nature of the program is critical to the educational success of our students.Status: Full-time, exemptSchedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30am-4:00pmHours: 37.5 weeklySalary: $80,000 annually (based on experience)Duties & Responsibilities (not all inclusive):Caseload: 12-15 studentsSpeech-Language Pathologist helps students develop and refine their expressive, receptive and social pragmatic communication skills in order for students to build meaningful relationships with others and participate effectively leading to an improved quality of life.Speech-Language department supports communication in a variety of settings to promote generalization of skills through the community program and adopt a push-in model working with students in their classroom.Speech-Language Pathologist is responsible for participating in team and PPT meetings, and providing and participating in in-service training.
