Maintenance Mechanic

Job DescriptionGPAC is working with a well-established national food manufacturer in upstate New York that is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic (2nd and 3rd shifts). They will be responsible responsible for keeping the equipment in good operating condition by performing preventive maintenance, machine tests, troubleshoots, removing technical issues, and performing emergency repairs.Responsibilities:Troubleshoot and repair PLC-controlled machinery, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systemsSupport line changeovers and startups to keep production running smoothlyInstall and maintain electrical systems (110V-440V) and control componentsRead and interpret complex wiring diagrams and schematicsMaintain accurate maintenance records and work ordersContribute to continuous improvement efforts to reduce downtimeEnsure compliance with GMP, safety, and food safety standardsQualifications:Good interpersonal, communication and leadership skillsAbility to work well in a team environmentGood Manufacturing Practices (GMP's), personal safety, and food safety standards5+ years of maintenance experience in manufacturing, distribution, or supply chain environmentsStrong experience with PLCs and electrical troubleshootingSolid mechanical aptitude with the ability to diagnose and solve issues quicklyAbility to read technical diagrams and schematicsTeam-oriented with strong communication skillsComfortable working in a food production environment (including exposure to flour/yeast)Willingness to work weekends, off-shifts, and overtime as neededEffectively support the Preventative Maintenance (PM) program with a goal of continually reducing unscheduled downtimeComplete all assigned work orders within the time allottedMaintain and repair all plant equipment with minimal instructionBenefits:Competitive hourly payHealth insuranceHealth savings accountPaid Time Off (PTO)401KDental insuranceVision insuranceEmployee assistance programLife insuranceWe are currently arranging interviews for this position.
