Job Summary: Procurement & Technical Documentation Specialist The Procurement & Technical Documentation Specialist is responsible for ensuring Elemental Hardware Enrichment's manufacturing operations are equipped with the materials, documentation, and supplier relationships necessary to produce high-quality instructional materials efficiently and accurately. This role serves as the operational steward of procurement and manufacturing documentation by sourcing components, managing vendor relationships, coordinating technical documentation updates, and maintaining the integrity of Bills of Materials (BOMs), work instructions, and manufacturing change orders. This role ensures that approved innovation and manufacturing decisions are translated into accurate, executable manufacturing documentation and reliable procurement processes. Success in this position is measured by the reliability of our supply chain, the accuracy and completeness of manufacturing documentation, the timely implementation of manufacturing changes, and the organization's ability to consistently manufacture products using current, accurate information. This role reports to the Head of Strategy & Operations and works cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Innovation, Brand & Community Engagement, and Program Strategy & Success team members. What you’ll do: Procurement & Supplier Management Source new components (hardware, raw materials such as wood, metal, and plastics, packaging materials, electrical items, etc.) that meet quality, cost, and technical specifications Research, qualify, and maintain alternative suppliers that reduce supply chain risk and minimize stock-outs Conduct cost-comparisons across suppliers and components Negotiate pricing, lead times, minimum order quantities, and purchasing terms that favor the business Maintain relationship with existing suppliers Identify opportunities to reduce material cost, lead time, quality, and supply continuity risks Monitor and evaluate supplier performance, developing preferred supplier relationships and reducing unnecessary complexity where possible Maintain accurate supplier information Maintain accurate purchasing and receiving records Coordinate inventory transfers between Receiving and dother departments to ensure material availability and inventory accuracy Technical Documentation Operations Create and maintain item and component specifications in our ERP Draft and maintain BOMs using technical information provided by Innovation, Production, Quality Control, and Packaging subject matter experts Coordinate the creation, review, and maintenance of manufacturing work instructions (production, quality control, and packaging) to ensure documentation is complete prior to production release Review documentation for completeness, consistency, and usability Ensure new products are manufacturing-ready by verifying documentation is complete, approved, and available prior to production release Periodically audit manufacturing documentation to identify inaccuracies, outdated information, or opportunities for standardization Coordinate, communicate, and track manufacturing change orders by ensuring all affected documentation is updated accurately and on time and impacted departments are aware of changes Maintain documentation version control Schedule & Benefits Expectations: Classification: Full-time, non-exempt Schedule: Primarily 8:00am - 4:30pm; occasional schedule flexibility may be required to communicate with international suppliers across multiple time zones Pay Range: $32 - $38 per hour Medical Benefits: We offer plans for medical, vision, and dental benefits. Partial employee plan coverage Paid Time Off: Earn up to 10 days of paid time off, 5 days of paid sick time, and enjoy 7 paid company holidays Who you are: 3 - 5 years of experience in procurement, manufacturing operations, supply chain operations, or technical documentation Experience with Bills of Materials (BOMs) Proficiency using Google Sheets or Microsoft Excel and manufacturing software (e.g. ERP or MRP) Demonstrated ability to collaborate and coordinate work across multiple departments Demonstrated ability to evaluate tradeoffs and make practical recommendations Disciplined with process design, execution, and follow-through Strong organizational skills High attention to detail Comfortable interpreting technical information Excellent written communication skills Pay: $32.00 - $38.00 per hour Benefits: 401(k) matching Dental insurance Health insurance Paid time off Work Location: In person
