As a Procurement Specialist, you will be responsible for sourcing complex materials and services through competitive processes, new product development, and exploring new supplier offerings. You will lead the competition, redesign, and procurement of innovative solutions that drive significant cost savings and enhance productivity across the organization. Additionally, you will establish and maintain strong supplier relationships, while utilizing tools and processes to improve supplier performance and drive continuous cost improvements.What You Can Expect In This Role (Job Responsibilities)While each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be:Direct Part ProcurementWork within the ERP system to evaluate and issue purchase orders to suppliersManage all procurement aspect's specific part categories, such as excess and shortages, past due purchase orders, and daily receipts of purchased partsSupport RMA process for assigned part categoriesSupplier PerformanceTrack and publish supplier KPI’sWork with supplier to develop improvement action plans when necessaryExecute annual PPV activities with assigned supply baseContinuous ImprovementDocument process and procedures to support procurement departmentDrive improvement to reduce excess and obsolete inventoryNegotiate with supplier to generate positive PPVIdentifying potential suppliers, visiting existing suppliers and building / maintaining relationshipsWhat we are looking for (Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education)We each bring something to the table, and we are looking for someone who has:Required Experience & EducationBachelor’s Degree with a minimum of three to five years’ experienceSignificant ERP experience (IFS experience, a plus)Skilled use of all Microsoft Office productsPreferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills, And AbilitiesStrong working knowledge of mechanical procurement concepts and technical drawingsKnowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques as well as an ability to “read” the marketEducation & CertificationsCPSM CertificationTravel & Working Environment8:00AM – 5PMMonday – FridayIn office less than 25% of travelHow We Live Our CultureOur culture is at the center of what we do and, more importantly, who we are.
