Piping Designer
Piping DesignerRole OverviewWe are seeking a Piping Designer to support engineering projects within petrochemical, chemical, and industrial facilities. This position plays an important role in developing safe, efficient, and cost-effective piping designs while working closely with engineers, designers, and construction teams to support successful project execution. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in piping design, strong CAD skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple disciplines.Duration - 1+ year contractPay rate - $45/hour on W2Key Responsibilities• Develop and revise piping design deliverables for industrial and petrochemical facility projects.• Create and modify 3D piping models, layouts, and associated design documentation.• Support project teams by preparing accurate and quality-driven design deliverables in accordance with company and client standards.• Coordinate with engineering, construction, and other design disciplines to resolve design issues and support project execution.• Participate in design reviews and incorporate feedback into project deliverables.• Identify and help resolve design challenges while maintaining project schedules and quality expectations.• Support field-related design inquiries and assist with design changes as needed.Required Qualifications• Associate Degree or Technical Diploma in Drafting, Design Technology, or a related field;OR• High School Diploma/GED with relevant piping design experience.• 3–5 years of piping design experience, preferably supporting petrochemical, chemical, refining, manufacturing, or industrial facility projects.• Proficiency with SmartPlant 3D (SP3D) and related piping design tools.• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.• Understanding of piping layouts, equipment arrangements, and industrial facility design practices.• Ability to work independently while effectively managing assigned tasks and priorities.• Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.Preferred Qualifications• Experience supporting brownfield or capital project environments.• Exposure to multidisciplinary engineering and design teams.• Familiarity with industry codes, standards, and best practices related to piping design.Desired Attributes• Self-motivated and detail-oriented.• Ability to work independently and solve design-related challenges.• Strong collaboration and communication skills.• Adaptable and responsive in a fast-paced project environment.• Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.GTech is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to creating a diverse environment.
