Data Analytics & Visualization Engineer

Overview As a Data Analytics & Visualization Engineer on the RTV team under GSM-O II, you transform raw data into clean datasets and deliver actionable insights through advanced analytics and visualizations. You’ll design dashboards on Kibana to support real-time decision-making and operational excellence. You’ll work in a fast-paced, Agile environment collaborating with end users and engineers to create a unified UX/UI. This role centers on data quality, visualization best practices, and mission-focused analytics, with a strong emphasis on Kibana as the primary platform. ResponsibilitiesGather, clean, and validate data from multiple sources to ensure accuracy and usabilityAnalyze complex datasets to identify trends and insights that answer operational questionsDesign and develop interactive dashboards and reports using Kibana as the primary toolApply UI/visual design principles and accessibility guidelines in dashboardsTranslate analytical results into actionable recommendations for stakeholdersEngage with stakeholders to understand business needs and data requirementsRefine and maintain data transformation pipelines ensuring data quality and alignment with business logicDevelop and maintain self-service analytics tools and reusable data assetsDocument data models, business logic, and analytics workflowsCollaborate with data engineers, business analysts, and stakeholders to deliver integrated solutions Key requirementsBachelor’s degree in a technical field and 8+ years of experienceProven experience designing dashboards with KibanaHands-on data cleaning, transformation, and analysis using Python (pandas, numpy), SQL, or RStrong data modeling, ETL, and data pipeline developmentAbility to translate business requirements into technical solutionsExcellent communication for presenting findings to diverse audiencesExperience with Git and collaborative developmentAttention to detail and commitment to data qualityAbility to obtain interim Secret DoD clearance and Security+ or DoD 8570 IAT II within 14 daysMust be able to commute to Scott AFB, IL for onsite workexcellent communicationcollaborationattention to detailKibana and Elastic Stack experiencePython (pandas, numpy), SQL, or R for data analysisETL and data pipeline development
