Most of our work is in specialty therapeutics, with oncology and rare diseases a specific area of expertise.Blue Matter Insights (BMI) is our specialized insights CoE, uniquely combining sophisticated quantitative analytics with strategic pharmaceutical consulting. BMI consultants work side-by-side with strategy team members on high-stakes client engagements. We have offices in NY, San Francisco, Boston, London, Zurich, Mumbai & Gurgaon.As a Manager in the Analytics practice, you lead client engagements end-to-end—owning the quality of analytical delivery, developing your team, and building the trusted client relationships that define Blue Matter’s reputation. You set the standard for analytical rigor while fostering a collaborative environment where people win together.Primary ResponsibilitiesProject & Engagement LeadershipLead and manage multiple concurrent client engagements of varying complexity, ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery with exceptional quality standardsOversee project teams (onshore and offshore analysts and consultants), providing day-to-day direction, managing workstreams, and ensuring alignment to client objectivesDevelop comprehensive project plans, manage project finances (SOWs, budgets, invoicing), and monitor risk throughout the project lifecycleLead the design and execution of complex analytical solutions across BMI’s service offerings including forecasting, commercial analytics, field operations, market access analytics, and commercial modelingClient Relationship ManagementServe as primary client contact for assigned engagements, building trusted advisor relationships with senior stakeholders (VP/SVP level)Lead client discussions, discovery sessions, and strategic planning meetings to scope projects and align on deliverablesPresent analyses, recommendations, and strategic implications to senior leadership teams with clarity and conviction—always speaking the truth through dataIdentify growth opportunities within existing accounts and support the development of proposals for new workAnalytical Solutions & InnovationDesign and oversee execution of sophisticated analytical solutions tailored to each client’s commercial context and product lifecycle stageCustomize BMI’s proprietary analytical tools and frameworks to address unique client challengesTranslate complex analytical findings into actionable strategic recommendations and compelling client narrativesStay current on analytical best practices, emerging tools, and industry trends to continuously strengthen BMI’s offeringsPeople Development & Firm ContributionRecruit, mentor, and develop junior team members, providing career guidance and regular performance feedbackFoster analytical excellence and structured problem-solving capabilities across project teamsContribute to BMI’s methodological development, intellectual property, and best practicesLead or support internal initiatives to enhance analytical capabilities, tools, and service offeringsDesired Experience & SkillsTechnical & Domain ExpertiseDeep expertise in pharmaceutical quantitative modeling, commercial analytics, and financial modelingProficiency with core 3rd-party datasets (provider unit data, payer access data, analog sales data, claims/EMR data)Advanced analytical skills spanning statistical modeling, forecasting, market access analytics, and scenario simulationFamiliarity with U.S. coverage, payment, pricing dynamics, and government pricing frameworksLeadership & ManagementDemonstrated experience managing project teams (onshore and offshore) and leading multiple concurrent engagementsStrong project management skills including planning, budgeting, risk management, and stakeholder communicationProven ability to mentor and develop junior professionalsTrack record of building and maintaining strong client relationships at senior levelsCommunication & Strategic ThinkingExceptional verbal and written communication skills with ability to present complex analyses to senior executivesStrong business acumen and ability to connect analytical findings to commercial strategyComfort navigating ambiguity and driving clarity in complex client environmentsProven ability to integrate business and industry knowledge into creative, client-centric solutionsQualificationsAdvanced degree (PhD, MD, MBA, or MS) in a quantitative field, life sciences, or business6–9 years of quantitative analytical experience with demonstrated career progressionPrior experience managing teams and client relationships in a consulting or professional services environmentExperience in specialty therapeutics (oncology, rare disease) preferredCompensation & BenefitsBase salary range: $190,000 – $225,000 per year.
