Ideal candidate will have at least 3 - 5 years’ experience.A Design Technician is responsible for safely repairing production lines, breakdown maintenance, troubleshooting problems, preventative maintenance and quality checks while being involved in continuous improvement initiatives.Maintain and operate all production equipmentOperate all shop equipment proficiently- including but not limited to Milling machines, lathes, surface grinders, drill presses, MIG welders, hand tools, etc.Ability to train mechanical personnel in all aspects of their job functions, including but not limited to,trouble shooting, tool maintenance, preventive maintenance, routine maintenance, operatingequipment, parts fabrication, etc…Knowledge of Hydraulic and Pneumatic systemsMillwright skillsGood communication skillsBasic computer knowledgeMust have the ability to read and interpret blueprintsWork safelyParticipate, as requested, on plant or company project teamsDesigningFabricatingMaintain Safe Working EnvironmentMaintain Housekeeping and OrderlinessMust be available to work any shiftPerforms other job-related duties as required or assignedUnderstands SQF and SQF responsibilities as assignedTrainingTechnical to go person on the floorAssist the Plant Engineer with managing the Maintenance TeamAssist the Plant Engineer with parts inventory and orderingJob RequirementsMust be able to work independentlyFunction well within a team environmentExcellent communication skillsMulti-tasking and organizational skills are essentialWhile performing duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, push, pull, twist, use hands, reach with hands and arms, and maybe be required to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawlThe employee may be required to lift and / or move up to 50 poundsSpecific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and ability to adjust focusThe employee may be exposed to a wide range of temperaturesThe employee may be exposed to loud machineryWe offer a competitive salary and excellent benefits such as medical, vision, dental insurance, basic & optional life insurance, 401(k) plan & stock purchase plan, pension plan, long term disability and tuition assistance.Crown is an equal opportunity employer.
