Elementary Classroom Teacher

Macon R-1 Elementary School is looking for a certified Elementary Classroom Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Provides instruction to students using effective instructional strategies.Participates in curriculum review and design.Creates and implements a classroom disciplinary plan.Creates lesson plans and activities to implement and supplement instruction.Monitors student progress and adjusts instruction accordingly.Participates in building, grade level and/or subject area committees.Participates in professional development activities.Maintains accurate student records including attendance, grades, and discipline.Completes and submits forms and required reports in a timely manner.Communicates regularly with parents regarding progress and other educational concerns.Reports suspected abuse, neglect, discrimination, and harassment as directed by Board policy.Prepares lesson plans for use by a substitute teacher.Attends established traditional school-sponsored activities (e.g., Back-to-School Night, Open House, programs, activities, and faculty meetings).Assumes other duties as assigned.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's Degree from an accredited universityValid Missouri Teaching Certificate or Certification in progress to be consideredPositive interpersonal relationship skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsKnowledge of digital resources, tools, and instructional applicationsOur core beliefs drive our culture for success, where we strive to be a model of excellence, preparing and empowering students to meaningfully contribute to their future.We believe in the intellectual, personal, social, and emotional development of all students and staffUpholding strong moral principles and community/school valuesFostering a growth mindset in our students and learning community through a well-rounded educational experienceFostering a culture of collaboration and community through consistent engagement, full transparency, and shared goals for a successful districtEducation is vital to meet the needs of all students and to improve our communityOur district can powerfully impact the lives of all students, staff, and community
