Structural Design Engineer
Apollo Technical has an immediate need for a Structural Design Engineer in the Fort Worth TXSummary The Structural Design Engineer is responsible for the analysis, design, and preparation of construction documents for reinforced concrete structures supporting industrial and commercial facilities. This role performs structural calculations and develops designs for slab-on-grade systems, elevated concrete slabs, foundations, walls, columns, and other structural elements, ensuring compliance with applicable building codes, industry standards, and project requirements.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesDesign reinforced concrete structural systems for commercial, industrial, manufacturing, warehouse, distribution, and institutional facilities.Design slabs to accommodate heavy equipment, warehouse storage, forklifts, vehicle traffic, and concentrated loading conditions.Evaluate floor flatness, serviceability, crack control, shrinkage, joint layouts, and long-term performance of concrete slabs.Prepare structural calculations, engineering reports, specifications, and construction documents.Produce and review structural drawings using AutoCAD and/or Revit.Review shop drawings, RFIs, and submittals; respond to contractor questions during construction.Conduct site observations and support construction administration as required.Ensure designs comply with ACI 318, ASCE 7, applicable OSHA requirements, and local jurisdictional codes.Provide post-design services for troubleshooting and problem resolution.QualificationsEducation and LicensureBachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis, orProfessional Engineer (PE) license.ExperienceMinimum of 3 years of structural engineering experience focused on industrial and commercial concrete construction.Demonstrated experience designing reinforced concrete structures and foundations.Required Knowledge and SkillsSlab-on-grade designElevated concrete slab designReinforced concrete detailingFoundation designStructural load path analysisDeflection, vibration, and crack controlExperience designing slabs for heavy industrial loads, warehouse facilities, or manufacturing operationsProficiency with structural analysis software such as RAM Structural System, ETABS, SAFE, RISA-3D, STAAD.Pro, or equivalentExperience with AutoCAD and RevitThorough understanding of:ACI 318ACI 360R (Design of Slabs-on-Ground)ASCE 7International Building Code (IBC)Excellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to manage multiple concurrent projects and meet deadlines
