Maintenance Mechanic

MAINTENANCE MECHANIC - SUN CHEMICALSHIFT - DAYSCOMPENSATION - 60-70KPOSITION SUMMARY/OBJECTIVES:Installs, maintains, and repairs heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, focusing on ensuring efficient operation and good indoor air quality in residential or commercial settings. Key duties involve diagnosing mechanical/electrical faults, performing preventative maintenance (cleaning, filter changes), troubleshooting breakdowns, handling emergency repairs, and documenting all work while adhering to safety codes and service standards. To be successful in this role, customer satisfaction, safety and comfort should be your top priority. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Operates chillers, fans, pumps, heat exchangers, boilers and all other equipment necessary to provide heating, ventilation and air conditioning to the facility.Install, maintain and repair equipment such as but not limited to pumps, valves, radiators, fans, motors, heaters, pneumatic controls, thermostats, fan coil units, and refrigeration units.Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults for HVAC systems.Perform filter changes in AHU’s, RTU’s as per schedule or as needed.Perform seasonal startups, keeping daily logs and records of all maintenance functions.Conduct periodic quality checks on equipment and systems to ensure proper operation of all HVAC’s and boilers in the facility.Cleaning, adjusting and repairing systems, and performing emergency repairs promptly and efficiently.Use Trane BAS system to monitor all the HVAC units and alarms.Proactively pursue facility upgrades and complete all the assigned workorders in timely manner.Comply with service standards, work instructions and customers' requirements.Train and assist other facility members in day-to-day operations.On-Call rotation may be required as needed. REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:High School Diploma or Equivalent.5+ years’ experience in troubleshooting intricate electrical circuits, refrigeration cycles, and advanced digital control systems (BMS)5+ years’ experience in performing high-level preventative and breakdown maintenance on specialized equipment like chillers, boilers, RTU’s, AHU’s.5+ years’ experience in maintaining compliance with EPA Section 608 refrigeration handlingValid EPA 608 certification: Type II & III or Universal.Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.Ability to lift 50+ lbs.Have a clean and valid driver’s license.Proficient with hand tools, electrical meters, refrigeration gauges, recovery equipment and braising torches.Ability to multi-task and handle multiple priorities simultaneously.Proficient in the usage of the learned Quality Process tools.
