The BRIDGE (Behaviorally Reaching Inclusion with Data and Goals for Education) program is designed to help students build the skills necessary to successfully access general education environments through structured supports, data-driven instruction, and a focus on regulation and engagement.Key Responsibilities:Provide specially designed instruction (SDI) in academic, behavioral, and social-emotional skill areas aligned with student IEP goalsDevelop and implement individualized programming that supports student access to general education settingsUse data collection and progress monitoring to inform instruction and adjust supportsSupport students in developing self-regulation, coping strategies, and social skillsCollaborate with general education teachers to promote inclusion and successful transitions between settingsSupervise and guide educational technicians, ensuring consistency in implementation of behavior and instructional plansPartner with related service providers (e.g., social work, OT, speech) to ensure cohesive programmingFacilitate and participate in IEP meetings, including progress reporting and goal developmentMaintain compliance with MUSER and IDEA regulations, including timely documentationQualifications:Valid Maine certification in Special Education (282 or appropriate endorsement)Experience working with students with behavioral and social-emotional needs preferredKnowledge of positive behavior supports, trauma-informed practices, and inclusive practicesStrong collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skillsAbility to work flexibly within a team-based modelPreferred Skills & Experience:Experience with functional behavior assessments (FBA) and behavior intervention plans (BIPs)Familiarity with data-driven decision making and progress monitoring toolsExperience supporting students transitioning between specialized and general education settingsProgram Focus:The BRIDGE program emphasizes:Building independence and regulation skillsIncreasing time in general education environmentsSupporting positive peer interactions and relationshipsUsing data and structured supports to guide decision-making and student growthWhy Join RSU 40?Collaborative and supportive special education teamCommitment to inclusive practices and program alignment across schoolsOpportunities for professional growth and leadershipA district focused on student-centered decision making and continuous improvement
