Medical Assistant

We are interviewing for a medical assistant to manage a broad range of clinical duties and excel in the workplace by making patient care a top priority. This role requires a willingness to learn quickly and be adaptable, communicate confidently and efficiently, manage a range of responsibilities, and work in a high-paced team environment. In addition to clinical duties, this role will include understanding the administrative area of the practice, which requires the ability to effectively multitask. All of our team members are cross-trained.For selected candidates, the interview process includes an on-site shadow immersion day. The new Medical Assistant will have an extended onboarding with hands-on training and mentoring, preparing for fully-independent work within 1-2 months from hire. Upon onboarding, after demonstrating successful skills as a medical assistant, you will be given the opportunity to train and take on additional responsibility on the clinical and patient care front, as well as learn to perform medical and cosmetic procedures under the supervision of the physician.Responsibilities and Duties:Patient Care:Greeting patients and checking them inRooming patients and taking an accurate HPITaking clear photos to be used as documentationPreparing patients for examinationAssisting the physician during exams/proceduresScribing during examinations (including full working & understanding of the EMR)Collecting and preparing laboratory specimens and ordersInstructing patients about medication and care plansPreparing and administering medications as directed by a physicianTransmitting prescription/prescription refills as directedRemoving sutures and changing dressingsPerforming procedures after being trained by the physicianProvide patient counseling information/handoutsExplaining treatment procedures to patientsCall patients with their pathology results (per physician discretion)Clinical Responsibilities:Complete DermTech certification (provided during onboarding)Room inventory and informing the manager of any needed suppliesAnswering phone callsResponding to patient emailsChecking consent forms are signedMaintaining medical records and patient historyInput medical documents into the EHRSterilize instruments and maintain cleanliness in treatment roomsAdhering to HIPAA/OSHA guidelinesComplete prescription prior authorizationsCommunicating results to primary care provider (PCP)Preferred Qualifications:Ability to start as soon as possiblePre-Med/PA/Nursing student0-2 years of hands-on patient care experienceWork Location: In person, virtual
