Sanctuary Software Studio, Inc. is seeking experienced, results-oriented Software Engineers to join our development team in Akron, Ohio.
The successful candidate shall be responsible for developing software and firmware for microprocessor systems on a variety of architectures with an emphasis on implementation.
The Software Engineer will primarily be involved in the ongoing development and validation of firmware and associated application software for embedded systems.
Knowledge of specific architecture or language is not required, but the Software Engineer must have familiarity with digital electronics, device communications and microprocessor interfacing.
The Software Engineer is responsible for delivering high quality software products in a small team environment. Supervision is limited in our collaborative environment, which demands effective organizational and time management skills in order to meet commitments.
The Software Engineer opportunity is a full-time, salaried position that includes the benefits provided to all Sanctuary Software staff.
Core Responsibilities
Firmware design, development and implementation
System level design and hardware/software co-design
Verification and validation activities compliant with internal and industry-specific standards
Tool development to support manufacturing, product operation and field support
Participation in peer review of engineering activities including code reviews and inspections
Application of engineering principles and practices to creatively devise solutions and solve problems
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent experience
2 to 5 years work experience in embedded systems development
Strong skills in embedded firmware development in C, C++
Understanding of real-time system concepts and methods
Familiarity with digital electronics and interfacing
Familiarity with a one or more microprocessor architectures
