Job Title: Accounts Receivable RepresentativeLocation: Columbia, SCCompensation: $18 - $21 / per hourEmployment Type: Contract to hireBenefits: Medical, dental, vision insurance, and 401(k) available during contract periodPosition OverviewAddison Group is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Representative to support our client’s revenue cycle operations. This role focuses on resolving outstanding claims, denials, and underpayments from third-party payers to ensure timely and accurate reimbursement for healthcare services.Key ResponsibilitiesInvestigate and resolve unpaid, denied, or unprocessed insurance claimsReview billing data for accuracy and submit corrected claims electronically or via paperManage work queues related to aging claims and denials across multiple payersProcess incoming correspondence, including mail and Explanation of Benefits (EOBs)Handle electronic data interchange (EDI) transactions and rejection reportsContact insurance companies to expedite claim resolutionUse web-based tools to verify claim status and service eligibilityAddress patient billing inquiries and assist with overflow customer service callsMaintain compliance with internal quality and productivity standardsUphold confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulationsPerform additional duties as assignedQualificationsRequired:High school diploma or equivalentMinimum of 3 years of medical billing experience in a healthcare settingStrong understanding of BCBS and other payer-specific guidelinesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work collaboratively and independentlyProficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and OutlookPreferredAssociate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business or related fieldCertification in medical billing, coding, or revenue cycle (e.g., CRCR, CPC)Experience with Cerner Practice Management systemsAddison Group is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
