Plant Financial Controller

George Thomas has partnered with a North American packaging manufacturer who is seeking to add a Plant Controller for their manufacturing facility in New Mexico. The Controller will be responsible for strengthening financial processes, internal controls, and reporting frameworks to support business growth and operational performance. Partnering closely with the leadership team, this individual will provide financial guidance, support strategic planning, and ensure compliance with all regulatory and company standardsThe role is onsite (our client will provide relocation support)Responsibilities IncludeLead and oversee all accounting functions, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, General Ledger, Treasury, and financial reporting.Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes and prepare accurate financial statements and management reports.Monitor cash flow, company investments, and financial performance to support business objectives.Develop budgets, forecasts, and financial plans while identifying opportunities to improve profitability and reduce costs.Ensure compliance with GAAP, government regulations, and internal policiesEstablish and maintain strong financial controls and reporting systemsCollaborate with external auditors and support audit activities.Analyze financial data, identify trends, and provide recommendations to senior leadership.Lead, mentor, and develop accounting team members through coaching, feedback, and performance management.Drive continuous improvement initiatives across accounting systems, processes, and reporting functionsRole Requirements.Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration; Master's degree preferred.CPA designation strongly preferred.Minimum 5 years of accounting management experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment.Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cost accounting.Experience with ERP systems; SAP experience preferred.Proven leadership skills with the ability to develop high-performing teams.Strong analytical, communication, and organizational abilities.Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Bilingual Spanish skills would be beneficial.Apply via the link or reach out to me directly - samuel.thomas@george-thomas.com
