Data Discovery (BigID) Engineer
BigID Engineer / Data Discovery EngineerThe Data Discovery (BigID) engineer will work as part of the Asset Discovery team to roll out BigID across AA. This individual will work with Data Discovery analysts and enterprise platform teams to scan enterprise structured and unstructured data sources, assess data classification, and collaborate with the Data Privacy and Governance teams.Required experience/knowledge:Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Technology, Information Systems (CIS/MIS), Engineering or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience/training3 years of experience as a systems or infrastructure engineerMust have hands of experience in administering docker containers, Kubernetes and AKSHands on experience with various Azure technologiesHands on working experience on BigID platform is a big plusKnowledge is handling APIsBasic database knowledge in Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle Database, PostgreSQL, MySQL/MariaDB, MongoDB, IBM DB2, etc.Knowledge of programming and scripting, including Unix shells, Python, PowerShell etc.Basic knowledge of data management disciplines such as data discovery, data governance, data classification and data privacy is a plusAbility to engage with multi-discipline internal teams to ensure smooth rollout of data protection solutions and successful integration with application teamsAbility to interact with other enterprise teams, data analysts and data governance teams for cross functional effortsAbility to effectively communicate progress, escalations, and issue analysis to key stakeholdersDemonstrated proficiency in strategic thinking and creative problem-solving with the ability to translate data analysis into logical and actionable outcomesPreferred experience/knowledge:Knowledge of data discovery/governance technologies such as BigID, Informatica etcExperience in onboarding different types of data sources in large scale enterprise environmentExperience in assessing data classification across structured and unstructured data repositoriesGood knowledge of network and troubleshooting skillsProficiency in Agile project management methodologyFamiliarity with different DevOps tools is a plus
