Quantitative Software Engineer Greenwich, CT (Hybrid) About the Opportunity Our client is a leading quantitative investment management firm that combines technology, data, and research to drive investment decision-making. The organization utilizes a highly analytical and systematic approach to building innovative investment solutions for institutional and private investors worldwide. This is an opportunity to join a front-office engineering team responsible for developing the platforms, tools, and infrastructure used by quantitative researchers and portfolio managers. The team works at the intersection of software engineering, data science, and investment research, building systems that transform complex data and analytics into scalable production solutions. The Role As a Software Engineer, you will help design and build critical research and investment technology platforms, partnering closely with researchers, data scientists, and investment professionals. Responsibilities include: Building and enhancing data platforms, orchestration systems, optimization engines, and validation frameworks Developing scalable APIs, tools, and infrastructure that support large-scale research and analytics workflows Creating cloud-native applications that process and analyze millions of data points Designing high-performance simulation and backtesting systems used to evaluate new investment strategies Building bespoke technology solutions that support specialized investment and research initiatives Contributing to AI and machine learning-enabled applications that improve research productivity and decision-making Collaborating closely with quantitative researchers and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into scalable software solutions This position follows a hybrid schedule, requiring 2–3 days per week onsite in Greenwich, CT. Qualifications 3+ years of professional software engineering experience Strong Python development experience, including libraries such as NumPy, Pandas, or similar data-focused tools Experience working with SQL databases, preferably PostgreSQL and/or SQL Server Exposure to AI, machine learning, or agent-based frameworks, particularly as applied to developer productivity and workflow automation Strong software design and object-oriented programming skills Experience building scalable applications using modern architectural patterns Familiarity with distributed systems, cloud platforms, microservices, containers, and service-oriented architectures Passion for writing high-quality, well-tested code Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders Ability to work in a fast-paced, research-oriented environment Nice to Have Experience within financial services, investment management, trading systems, or quantitative research environments Exposure to portfolio analytics, optimization, simulation, or financial data platforms What We're Looking For Collaborative and intellectually curious mindset Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Desire to work closely with researchers and business partners Commitment to quality, transparency, and continuous learning Interest in applying technology to solve complex, data-intensive challenges Compensation & Benefits Base salary target: $155,000 – $185,000 Annual performance-based bonus opportunity Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage 401(k) program Generous paid time off Additional benefits package available This is an excellent opportunity to work on challenging technical problems in a highly collaborative environment where software engineering, data, and research intersect.
