AI PRODUCT ENGINEER$180,000-$285,000 base salary plus competitive equitySan FranciscoESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE - PLEASE REVIEW BEFORE APPLYINGWe are looking for candidates who can demonstrate:• Approximately 2-8 years of full-time software engineering experience, ideally 4-6.• Strong backend engineering fundamentals, with production Python experience particularly valuable.• End-to-end ownership of meaningful product features without heavy product management support.• Practical React and TypeScript experience.• Experience building production AI-agent, LLM or similarly complex intelligent systems.• A Computer Science, Computer Engineering or closely related technical degree.• A record of exceptional achievement through rapid progression, a high-bar engineering team or meaningful early startup ownership.• Strong product judgement, ownership, reliability and initiative.• Willingness to remain hands-on and work four days per week in San Francisco.THE OPPORTUNITYThe client is a Series B healthcare AI company building an agentic platform that enables major health systems to turn clinical knowledge into reliable action. Backed by leading venture investors, its technology is already deployed within several nationally recognised health systems.You will join a small, flat engineering team and own meaningful product capabilities from idea through production. Engineers are expected to understand user impact, make thoughtful product decisions and build solutions end to end.WHAT YOU WILL DO• Design and build agentic AI workflows and the reusable primitives that support them.• Own product features from problem definition through deployment and iteration.• Work across backend and frontend engineering using Python, Rust, React and TypeScript.• Build reliable production systems on Kubernetes and AWS.• Translate clinician and end-user needs into thoughtful technical solutions.• Work with substantial autonomy in a low-meeting engineering environment.HELPFUL, BUT NOT ESSENTIALExperience with healthcare AI, clinical workflows, AI agents, LLM systems, Rust, Kubernetes, AWS, FHIR or EHR integrations is valuable.
