Motion Capture Engineer

We are looking for a contract Tracking / Motion-Capture Engineer to work with motion-capture systems to support various tracking-related tasks (e.g. head or full-body tracking) in support of audio/acoustic data collection, experimentation, and demo design. Interest in audio signal processing, audio hardware systems, and acoustics would be a plus Must-Have 3+ years of academic or industry experience with Opti-Track or Vicon systems and accompanying software (No Exceptions) Must-Have Skills 1. 3+ years of academic or industry experience with Opti-Track (preferred) Vicon or other systems and accompanying software 2. Familiarity with Motion Capture Technology and systems for both skeleton and rigid-body tracking Nice-to-Have Skills 1. Interest in audio signal processing, audio hardware systems, and acoustics would be a plus – motion-tracking as it relates to audio 2. 3+ years of programming experience in Python, MATLAB, and/or C/C++ 3. Experience with RGBD tracking 4. Experience with synchronizing multimodal sensor data 5. Experience with writing software for receiving, parsing, and utilizing streaming motion-capture data 6. Experience with rigid-body marker design (active and passive) for simultaneous tracking of large numbers of rigid bodies 7. Experience with full-body tracking methods. Degrees/Certifications Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field, e.g. electrical engineering or computer science preferred, not required Day-to-Day Responsibilities · Design, optimize, build, and maintain robust optical tracking systems for motion capture within larger experimental setups, including marker-based and non-marker-based tracking · Troubleshoot and repair tracking systems (optical and other) as needed to maintain experiment throughput · Determine/develop methods of storing and assessing tracking data, while iterating on system design and configuration to improve data quality and capacity · Other systems-related engineering and lab setup work as required.
