Motion Capture Engineer
We are looking for a contract Tracking / Motion-Capture Engineer to work with motion-capture systems to support various tracking-related tasks (e.g. head or full-body tracking) in support of audio/acoustic data collection, experimentation, and demo design. Interest in audio signal processing, audio hardware systems, and acoustics would be a plus
Must-Have 3+ years of academic or industry experience with Opti-Track or Vicon systems and accompanying software (No Exceptions)
Must-Have Skills
1. 3+ years of academic or industry experience with Opti-Track (preferred) Vicon or other systems and accompanying software
2. Familiarity with Motion Capture Technology and systems for both skeleton and rigid-body tracking
Nice-to-Have Skills
1. Interest in audio signal processing, audio hardware systems, and acoustics would be a plus – motion-tracking as it relates to audio
2. 3+ years of programming experience in Python, MATLAB, and/or C/C++
3. Experience with RGBD tracking
4. Experience with synchronizing multimodal sensor data
5. Experience with writing software for receiving, parsing, and utilizing streaming motion-capture data
6. Experience with rigid-body marker design (active and passive) for simultaneous tracking of large numbers of rigid bodies
7. Experience with full-body tracking methods.
Degrees/Certifications
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field, e.g. electrical engineering or computer science preferred, not required
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
· Design, optimize, build, and maintain robust optical tracking systems for motion capture within larger experimental setups, including marker-based and non-marker-based tracking
· Troubleshoot and repair tracking systems (optical and other) as needed to maintain experiment throughput
· Determine/develop methods of storing and assessing tracking data, while iterating on system design and configuration to improve data quality and capacity
· Other systems-related engineering and lab setup work as required.
