Digital Communications Specialist

The requirements listed below are representative of knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.Graphic Design & Visual Content (55%)Design and produce high-quality visual assets for:Social mediaInternal newsletters and communicationsFlyers, signage, presentations, and marketing collateralTranslate written content into visually compelling, brand-aligned materialsMaintain and evolve templates to improve efficiency, consistency, and scalabilityEnsure all deliverables align with HPSI brand standards and visual identityManage multiple design requests while prioritizing based on business needs and deadlinesSocial Media Coordination & Publishing (40%)Manage and maintain the social media content calendar across platforms (LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, X)Coordinate with internal stakeholders to collect, organize, and refine content submissionsEdit and format copy to ensure clarity, consistency, and alignment with brand voicePair content with appropriate visuals and prepare posts for publishingSchedule and publish content using social media management toolsAd Hoc Communications Support (5%)Support development of internal communications, including email announcements and newslettersCollaborate with the Multimedia Specialist to incorporate photography and video into digital contentProvide general communications support as neededCOMPETENCIESDetail-oriented and highly organizedAbility to manage multiple inputs and deadlines in a fast-paced environmentAble to communication effectively with all levels of the organizationDecision making/problem solvingConflict resolutionStrategic thinkingStress managementWillingness and ability to work as a team memberSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILTYThis position has no supervisory responsibilities.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEBachelor's degree in Communications, Graphic Design, Marketing, or a related field5-7 years of experience in graphic design and digital content production; prior experience in a corporate environment is strongly preferredStrong design skills with proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and/or CanvaStrong writing, proofreading, and editorial skills with an eye for detail and toneStrong written and verbal communicator with executive presence; able to collaborate effectively across teams and engage stakeholders at all levelsHighly organized, process-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneouslyAdaptable, solutions-oriented, and able to pivot quickly in response to changing prioritiesProactive, self-starter with strong critical thinking skills and ability to work independentlyCreative thinker with a passion for continuous improvement and process enhancementIntegrity, professionalism, and commitment to high-quality workComfortable working with internal and external teams, and contributing as a collaborative team memberExperience managing social media platforms and content schedulingWillingness to support occasional early mornings, evenings, or weekend events (at least once a month)Strong grasp of logistics and communication workflowsWORK ENVIRONMENTEnvironmental exposures are similar to those found in most heavy industrial settings and may include noise, heat, cold, vibration, dust, fumes and smoke.
