Technical Instructor (Fleet and Shared Services)Location: Owosso, MI, USCompany: Consumers EnergyEligibility: This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship.Applicants requiring sponsorship are advised not to apply.General Summary of Job ResponsibilitiesThe Technical Instructor provides high-quality instruction and facilitated learning experiences for employees in technical training areas. The primary focus is to deliver skills-based training to co-workers performing highly technical activities (gas, electric, generation operations, fleet/facilities, technical safety & environmental). They collaborate with other instructors and educational professionals to develop curriculum, assessments, and instructional materials. They provide guidance, monitor progress, and ensure a positive learning environment.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesPrepare and deliver engaging lectures, presentations, and interactive sessions to convey highly technical concepts, theories, and procedures effectively to students in the assigned subject area, as well as support in non-technical areas to meet business needs.Revise and continuously improve lesson plans, curriculum, and instructional materials based on established guidelines and objectives.Assess student learning and progress through various approved methods.Support a lean mindset throughout the organization by using Lean methodology and principles. This includes finding and solving problems and contributing to customer affordability and the company's financial performance by seeking efficient and effective learning solutions.Collaborate with colleagues and business partners including joint training committees and safety reps to develop and align instructional strategies and curriculum across courses. Act as a liaison to communicate information between key stakeholders and Learning and Development (L&D).Participate in professional development activities to stay updated with the latest educational practices, technology, and trends to enhance the learning experiences.
