Lead Technician - Structured Cabling, Access Control, and Security

Job Description We are seeking an experienced Lead Technician to join our team. In this role, you will lead the installation, termination, testing, and troubleshooting of structured cabling systems (Cat6, fiber optic), access control systems, and security devices. A working knowledge of audiovisual (AV) systems is a plus, but not required.Key Responsibilities:Act as the on-site lead technician for structured cabling and low-voltage projectsInstall, terminate, and test copper and fiber cabling to industry standardsInstall and commission access control systems, including card readers, door hardware, and controllersInstall and configure video surveillance systemsSupervise and mentor junior technicians and apprenticesInterpret blueprints, construction drawings, and scope-of-work documentationCoordinate with project managers, clients, and other trades for successful project deliveryMaintain accurate documentation and as-built drawingsTroubleshoot and resolve field issues efficientlyFollow all safety protocols and code requirementsAssist occasionally with basic AV installations, such as mounting displays or running HDMI cables (preferred)Preferred Qualifications:3–5+ years of experience in structured cabling, access control, and security systemsDemonstrated leadership and crew supervision skillsProficiency in copper (Cat5e/6/6A) and fiber optic terminations and testingFamiliarity with access control platforms (HID, Lenel, Swiftlane, Verkada, etc.)Experience with security camera systems and video recordersOSHA 10/30 certification or manufacturer certifications (preferred)AV system experience (conference room displays, HDMI, basic DSPs) preferredValid California driver's license with a clean driving recordCompany DescriptionLumibuild is a commercial technology integrator headquartered in Emeryville, CA.
