To help close the critical 80% nutrition gap by making it easier for Americans to eat more fruits, veggies, and dairy as part of their daily lives.The company has headquarters in Chicago and New York City and operates 4 manufacturing plants in Little Chute, WI; Brookings, SD; Traverse City, MI; and Nampa, ID. #IWorkForAllForGoodThe Controls Engineer is responsible for troubleshooting issues, managing projects, and providing guidance and training related to instrumentation, electrical, and controls systems.Job Responsibilities & TasksTechnical troubleshooting for Controls, Electrical, Instrumentation, and some Mechanical SystemsProgramming (and consultation) for continuous improvement projectsManagement of small engineering projectsAttend daily production, technical services, and management meetingsMonitor status of production equipment and support maintenance as neededProgramming PLC’s and HMI’s for implementing improvement projectsCompleting formal root cause analyses and recommending/completing necessary corrective actionsSome ‘after hours – on call’ plant support for controls, automation, or advanced electrical troubleshooting.Training for plant E&I techniciansAll other duties as assignedPosition RequirementsEDUCATION B.S. Electrical Engineering preferred or equivalent technical certification (5 years additional experience can substitute in most cases)Experience3 years working in industrial manufacturing preferably working within or alongside maintenanceSkills Must have:Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint)Ability to program PLC’sServo/Frequency Drive Troubleshooting and ProgrammingStrong electrical and mechanical troubleshootingUnderstanding of machine networkingUnderstanding of electrical drawingsPerform, teach, and communicate root cause analysisNice to have:Ability to create databasesProject management experienceExperience with:Allen Bradley Control Logix (RS 5000)Siemens S7 PLC/HMIProface HMIIntouch WonderwareYaskawa Motion Controller PLCOmron PLCDrives (Danfoss, Siemens, Yaskawa, Omron, Allen Bradley)Fanuc RoboticsVision SystemsPhysical & Travel RequirementsAble to access all areas of the manufacturing facility including use of stairs, ladders, and the occasional powered lift.Able to work a minimum of 8 hours per day in normal office conditionsBel Brands is an equal employment opportunity employer.
