Hospitalist
Job Summary
Position: Hospitalist (Full‑Time, flexible schedule). Coverage needed seven days per week for initial hospitalizations within 24 hours of admission.
Location: North Port Behavioral Health Hospital, 4501 Citizens Parkway, North Port, FL 34288.
About the Role
Deliver direct medical and mental health care, including pharmacologic and non‑pharmacologic treatment as defined by professional scope of practice.
Provide clinical services to patients within medical protocols defined by federal and state regulations and facility policies.
Review medical information to ensure patient stability and to offer medical recommendations.
Ensure the physical health and care of patients while collaborating constructively with other healthcare professionals.
Review and complete medical information for individual care plans.
Deliver services and information in a timely manner, maintaining confidential documentation, compliance, and billing according to policy and procedures.
Qualifications
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) required.
One or more years of experience as a staff physician in a behavioral health setting preferred.
Licenses & Certifications
Current state medical license in the state where the facility operates.
Board certification or equivalent in a behavioral health specialty.
Current DEA credentials to prescribe controlled substances per state regulations.
Additional DEA credentials may be required per state and facility regulations.
