Shift Lead
As a Shift Lead at TA Travel Center, you will oversee the operation of the convenience store and ensure a seamless customer experience during your shift. This role involves leading the team, managing day-to-day activities, and upholding company standards for service and cleanliness. You will be responsible for training employees, handling inventory, managing cash transactions, and creating a positive atmosphere for both customers and staff.Key Responsibilities: Management: Supervise staff, ensuring they perform their duties effectively and adhere to company protocols Customer Service: Provide outstanding service to customers and resolve any issues that arise during shifts Training: Onboard and train new team members in store procedures and customer service practices Inventory Control: Monitor inventory levels, assist with stock management and implement necessary orders Cash Handling: Ensure proper cash management, including cash register operations and daily reconciliations Compliance: Enforce safety and health standards to maintain a secure shopping environment Team Communication: Liaise between staff and upper management, ensuring operational needs are communicated effectivelyRequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalent is required1-2 years of experience in retail or customer service; supervisory experience is a plusStrong leadership and interpersonal skillsExcellent communication skills, both verbally and in writingAbility to solve problems and handle customer complaints effectivelyProficiency with cash registers and basic computer systemsWillingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidaysPhysical Requirements:Ability to stand for prolonged periods and lift items up to 50 poundsMust be capable of completing physical tasks, such as restocking shelves and organizing products
