Sales Athlete – Outbound Business Development RepresentativeState Motor & Control – A Galco CompanyLocation: St. Louis, Missouri (Metro Area)Reports To: Sales ManagementPosition SummaryState Motor & Control is seeking a highly driven, competitive, and energetic Sales Athlete to expand our customer base in the St. Louis industrial market. This role is focused on outbound prospecting, reactivating down-trending accounts, and developing new customer relationships within manufacturing, OEM, and industrial automation markets.This is a high-activity sales role designed for someone who thrives on competition, customer engagement, and building long-term business relationships. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, resilient, and comfortable making 50–60 outbound customer calls per day while developing and growing their own book of business.The Sales Athlete will work closely with sales leadership, supplier partners, and internal support teams to identify opportunities and drive revenue growth across industrial automation, motor control, drives, controls, and related solutions. Key Responsibilities Proactively contact down-trending, inactive, and target accounts throughout the St. Louis marketMake 50–60 outbound calls per day to manufacturers, OEMs, maintenance departments, and industrial customersIdentify opportunities for industrial automation, motor control, VFDs, drives, PLCs, electrical components, repair services, and engineered solutionsDevelop and grow a personal book of business through consistent prospecting and follow-upBuild relationships with plant managers, maintenance teams, engineers, purchasing agents, and operations leadersRe-engage former customers and position State Motor & Control as a trusted industrial partnerGenerate quotes, follow up on opportunities, and convert activity into sales growthUtilize CRM tools and sales reporting systems to track pipeline activity and customer engagementWork collaboratively with outside sales representatives, service teams, engineering groups, and supplier partnersStay informed on market trends, local manufacturing activity, and competitor positioningMeet and exceed monthly activity and revenue goalsQualifications Prior experience in industrial automation, electrical distribution, motor control, or industrial sales preferredKnowledge of industrial products including drives, motors, PLCs, controls, sensors, HMIs, and automation systems is highly desirablePrevious experience in the St. Louis industrial marketplace preferredStrong phone presence and communication skillsHighly competitive, self-motivated, and goal-oriented personalityAbility to manage multiple customer relationships and priorities simultaneouslyStrong organizational and follow-up skillsExperience using CRM systems and Microsoft Office tools preferredAbility to work independently while contributing to a team environmentPreferred Candidate ProfileWe are looking for someone who: Brings high energy and urgency to every dayIs motivated by winning new business and creating growth opportunitiesHas the mindset of an athlete — disciplined, competitive, resilient, and performance-drivenEnjoys prospecting and developing relationships from the ground upWants the opportunity to build a long-term sales career within the industrial automation industryCompensation & Benefits Competitive base salary plus incentive compensationUncapped earning potential tied to performance and account growthHealth, dental, and vision insurance401(k) planPaid time off and holidaysCareer growth opportunities within the Galco family of companiesPowered by JazzHR
