By joining our team, you'll have the opportunity to work with large and diverse datasets, iterate with research and production teams, and deliver voice based experiences to millions of users worldwide.ResponsibilitiesImplement backend tools for Speech data warehouses including cataloging the entire collection of Speech DataAutomate speech data annotation that runs on a self-serve platformDeploy and implement LLM-based chatbots to make the unified speech warehouse queryable and actionable (such as derived dataset creation) via natural languageAutomate onboarding of new speech datasets from various sources onto a unified speech warehouse for easier discoverability and inclusion in training and evaluation of SiriCollaborate with other Data and infrastructure teams across Apple to implement querying and speech dataset creation improvementsMinimum QualificationsDeep expertise in Python software development, CI/CD, unit and integration testingDistributed data processing tools and frameworks (Beam, Spark, Dask, Ray)Strong software engineering abilities in PythonPreferred QualificationsM.S. or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, or equivalent experienceStrong data engineering background in speech and/or language/text/dialogue processing fieldSpeech and/or Machine Learning experience a plusReal passion for building research demo data solution prototypes and turning them into production quality design/implementationStrong interpersonal skills to work well with engineering teamsExcellent problem solving and critical thinkingAbility to work in a fast-paced environment with rapidly changing prioritiesPassionate about building extraordinary products and experiences for our usersCompensation and BenefitsAt Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. The base pay range for this role is between $162,500 and $286,400, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs.
