Our Orleans Elementary campus lies roughly two hours south of the Oregon border, while our Willow Creek site (TVES) is conveniently located just off Highway 299 near the coastal mountain corridor. Since many applicants come from outside the region, we encourage prospective candidates to explore our school communities as well as nearby coastal towns such as Eureka, Arcata, McKinleyville, and Blue Lake to get a feel for the area. Fun fact: many of our teachers choose to live on the coast and enjoy a beautiful daily commute along Highway 299, traveling through forested mountains and river valleys. Living locally is equally rewarding, with communities tucked into wooded valleys and hillsides, where summer days often mean swimming, relaxing, or fishing in the clear waters of the Klamath and Trinity Rivers-though you do become accustomed to driving about 1.5 hours to reach the nearest Costco.
