In this role, you will be the face of the healthcare team, skillfully drawing blood samples from a diverse patient population, including pediatric and geriatric individuals. This position offers a dynamic, supportive environment where your technical proficiency and interpersonal skills will directly impact diagnostic capabilities and patient outcomes.Responsibilities:Responsible for collecting quality blood specimens from patients in accordance with established procedures, ensuring accuracy and patient safety.Prepare and label specimens correctly for laboratory testing, maintaining strict adherence to safety and confidentiality protocols.Establish rapport with patients; explain procedures clearly to foster a trusting, comfortable environment.Demonstrate proficiency in venipuncture, capillary puncture, and other specimen collection techniques, including pediatric and geriatric populations.Accurately complete required documentation, records, and data entry related to specimen collection and patient interactions.Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety standards within the collection area, supporting a professional clinical environment.Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet daily operational goals, exhibiting leadership behaviors and process excellence.Follow all safety, confidentiality, and infection control guidelines to uphold a secure and compliant workplace.Required Skills:Minimum of 6 months experience in phlebotomy, with demonstrated proficiency in venipuncture and specimen handling.Strong customer service skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and professionally with diverse patient populations.Excellent technical skills in blood collection, including pediatric and elderly patients.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, managing multiple priorities efficiently.High level of accuracy and attention to detail in specimen labeling, documentation, and data entry.Proficiency with keyboard and data entry systems in a clinical or healthcare setting.Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as needed.Nice to Have Skills:Medical assistant, paramedic, or related medical training.Certification in phlebotomy (required in California, Nevada, and Washington).Experience in customer service within retail or service environments.Knowledge of electronic health records (EHR) systems and laboratory information systems.Preferred Education and Experience:High school diploma or equivalent.At least 6 months of professional phlebotomy experience; 1+ years preferred.Formal medical training such as Medical Assistant or Paramedic certification is a plus.Other Requirements:Valid phlebotomy certification (where applicable).Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks.Flexibility to cover various shifts, including weekends and holidays.Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and following public health guidelines.Physically capable of performing blood draws on all age groups, including pediatric and geriatric patients.Seize this opportunity to be a vital part of a team that values quality care, professionalism, and patient trust.
