Manufacturing Mechanical Engineer - UPE

The primary role of the Manufacturing Mechanical Engineer is to work with the Engineering team to develop and launch processes that meet all objectives for safety, quality, delivery, and cost for both new model (NM), non-new model (NNM), and adaptation programs. This role supports all Manufacturing Engineering functions for North America powertrain battery tray/frame, casting, components, engine and transmission programs. Must be able to travel 21%-40%.Main responsibilities include the following:Perform assessments for process changes and related investment requirements for cost studiesUnderstand engineering scope definition, Requests for Quotes (RFQ's), sourcing, technical evaluations, design, manufacturing, and installation of air/mist/coolant collectors and filtrationSupport and prioritize the Non-New Model (NNM) powertrain programs requests and ensure that approved programs are completed on time and within budgetSupport all New Model (NM) program's facilities aspects including site preparation and machine installationSupport flow activities on programs ensuring successful implementation and tracking of the Iron Triangle (Scope, Timing, and Cost)Participate in the implementation of Stellantis Production Way (SPW) methodology, supporting all activities including deployment of advanced SPW tools and guide systematic root cause problem solving methods to attack risksDevelopment/improvement of process and equipment standards related to facilities infrastructure.Support the Engine, Transmission, e-components (Electric Drive Module, Motors) or Chassis (Battery Tray, Cradles, Cross Car Beams) Manufacturing Plants located in Dundee, Michigan (MI), Trenton, Michigan (MI), Kokomo, Indiana (IN) and Saltillo, Mexico (MX); Transmission Plants in Kokomo and Tipton, Indiana (IN); Casting Plants in Kokomo, Indiana (IN) and Etobicoke, Ontario (ON), Toledo, Ohio (OH), while maintaining a relationship with the Global CoC initiatives.Drive standardization across plants in all regionsBasic Qualifications:High school degree or GED and 3 years of experience in engineering or a related technical fieldAbility to work and interact with all levels of the organizationStrong oral, written, presentation and organizational skillsAbility to translate technical data and analysis into an executive summary format for presentation in easily understandable formatsAbility to embrace cross-functional teams responsible for developing, specifying, building, and launching powertrain manufacturing processesKnowledge of advanced problem-solving skills and ability to manage data analysis to identify root causes and attack them to closureKnowledge of cost studies and strategic planningMicrosoft Office intermediate or advance knowledgePreferred Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or technical equivalentMaster's degree in Engineering or equivalentPreferred 5 or more years manufacturing experience, Powertrain Manufacturing experience a plusPreferred 5 or more years' experience in program management or multi-tasking environment
