Position OverviewThe Mid-Level Developer supports implementation of AWS Cloud Native solutions as part of a large-scale legacy system-of-systems modernization initiative. Working within an Agile Scrum Team, this role executes modernization tasks under the technical direction of Senior-Level Developers and Architects.The Mid-Level Developer is responsible for building scalable, secure, and maintainable Python-based services and data-processing components aligned to defined migration plans and architectural patterns.This role contributes to modernization velocity while ensuring alignment to established standards and DevSecOps practices.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport of Systems Inventory & Migration ExecutionAssist in documenting legacy system behavior and dependencies during structured discovery effortsSupport analysis of legacy components identified in the systems inventoryContribute technical input to migration activities under Senior-Level Developer guidanceImplement migration tasks aligned to approved phased migration plansSupport refactor and modernization of scoped system componentsPython-Based Application DevelopmentDevelop and maintain Python-based microservices and data processing modulesImplement user stories derived from EPIC decompositionRefactor defined legacy modules into cloud-compatible componentsWrite clean, modular, testable code aligned to established architectural standardsParticipate in code reviews and incorporate feedback AWS Cloud Native ImplementationDevelop application components for AWS environments including:LambdaECS / FargateS3EventBridgeSNS/SQSAurora/PostgresImplement API integrations and event-driven workflowsContribute to containerization and serverless deploymentsEnsure code complies with enterprise cloud guardrails and security standardsDevSecOps & CI/CD ParticipationDevelop CI/CD-compatible codeWrite and maintain automated unit testsParticipate in pipeline troubleshootingAddress defects and security findingsSupport observability implementation (logging, metrics) Agile Scrum Team ParticipationParticipate in Sprint Planning, Daily Standups, Reviews, and RetrospectivesContribute to story estimation and backlog refinement discussionsDeliver committed sprint objectivesCollaborate closely with Test Engineers to resolve defectsIntegration & Quality SupportAssist in validating component-level integrationsEscalate cross-system integration risks to Senior DevelopersSupport documentation updates tied to implementation changesContribute to regression remediation effortsRequirementsRequired Qualifications4-7 years of software development experienceStrong proficiency in PythonExperience developing applications in AWS Cloud Native environmentsExperience building APIs, microservices, or data-processing servicesFamiliarity with serverless and containerized architecturesExperience working with relational databases (Postgres preferred)Experience working in Agile Scrum TeamsU.S. Citizenship requiredPreferred QualificationsExposure to legacy modernization effortsFamiliarity with large, data-intensive systemsExperience contributing to system inventory documentationExperience with CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps workflowsBenefits401(k) with matching and 100% VestedHealth Insurance - 3 plans to select fromDental insuranceVision InsuranceHealth savings accountLife insuranceShort Term DisabilityLong Term DisabilityAD&DPaid time offProfessional development assistanceTrainingTuition reimbursementFlexible scheduleFlexible spending accountReferral programPaid Legal Planand more...
