Job Title: Assistant Coach, CheerleadingLocation: Grand Peak AcademyFLSA Status: Non-ExemptReports to: Head Cheer CoachWork Hours/Days: Part-Time, Seasonal; Practice and event days will be held after school during the school weekSeason Dates: August 2026 – February 2027Compensation: $1,000 one-time stipend payable at the conclusion of the seasonKey ResponsibilitiesInstruct and work with student-athletes under the guidance of the Head Coach to prepare for performances, games, and competitionsReport to the Head Coach and assist with all aspects of the cheer program as assignedDemonstrate leadership through consistent implementation of program expectations and directionAssist in preparation of routines, cheers, performances, and team activitiesAttend and actively participate in all scheduled practices, games, performances, and eventsAssist with the setup and breakdown of equipment and materials for practices and eventsSupport supervision of student-athletes during team activitiesMaintain clear, respectful communication with parents, school staff, and student-athletes regarding schedules, expectations, and program updatesLead practices or portions of practices in extenuating circumstances when the Head Coach is not presentPromote sportsmanship, school spirit, teamwork, and positive representation of Grand Peak AcademyPosition RequirementsHigh School Diploma or GED requiredPrevious coaching or cheerleading experience preferredDemonstrated knowledge and understanding of cheerleading fundamentals, safety practices, and routinesStrong communication skills, both verbal and writtenAbility to work collaboratively with diverse groups of students, staff, and familiesCommitment to fostering a positive, structured, and inclusive team environmentCompletion of Concussion Training or willingness to obtain prior to season startAdherence to all Grand Peak Academy policies, including the Employee Handbook, Family Handbook, and all applicable school and board policiesMandatory Background check and fingerprintingPhysical RequirementsAbility to lift up to 25 poundsAbility to move throughout gymnasiums, fields, and athletic facilities, both indoors and outdoors
