This continued recognition further affirms Baylor as a rewarding place to build a career.What We Are Looking ForThis position specifically supports the mission of the university through providing guidance and counseling to prospective students to help achieve the freshman strategic enrollment management goals for each incoming class and term. The Regional Assistant Director of Admissions represents Baylor and coordinates regional recruitment in key markets, establishing new relationships and networks in those markets to gain application numbers through the enrollment funnel to attract students who are an academic, social and financial fit for Baylor University.A bachelor's degree and four years of relevant experience are required. A master's degree and five years of relevant experience is preferred.Additional education or experience will be considered in lieu of one another.A valid US Driver License with a clear driving record of at least two years is required.Must be able to travel outside of the state of Texas.This role is a regional assignment that will be based in Houston, Texas.Applicants must be authorized to work full-time in the United States.What You Will DoManage a geographic territory and strategically work with prospective students within that territory from point of inquiry to final matriculationUsing geo-demographic research, historical data, funnel reports and current enrollment trends while formulating territory-specific initiatives to drive enrollmentBe an expert on all admissions policies & procedures; actively maintain a wealth of information about Baylor's academic/social/spiritual opportunities to personally and persuasively recruit students and tailor messaging to fit the audienceManage territory budget and strategize travel within territory to engage in high impact recruitment activitiesPlan and host small group events & recruitment and yield events by targeting prospective students in the territoryMeet yearly enrollment goals as assignedMaintain a dynamic and impactful presence year-round within the regional territory, ensuring consistent engagement and visibilityManage daily correspondence from prospective students using a wide variety of communication channelsUse data to develop territory-specific outbound communicationCounsel students on the nuances of the admissions process, especially regarding test-optional admissionsUse persuasive techniques to encourage prospective students to act, such as visiting campus, completing their application, or selecting Baylor University as their final college choiceQualify prospective student leads and maintain accurate records of interactions in Slate throughoutthe enrollment funnelMeet with prospective students individually or in groups in office visits, while traveling in territory, or through a virtual platform to recruit throughout the enrollment processLeverage advanced Slate query techniques to identify application files to completeReview and evaluate complete files, make admission acceptance and denial decision recommendations, and prepare files to go to the admissions committeeUtilize tools and resources in Slate to strategically personalize recruitment efforts to meet the individual needs of prospective studentsCounsel students regarding final college decision to enroll at BaylorDevelop and maintain a financial aid strategy with intermediate-level financial aid knowledge, proficiently counseling students on common financial aid practices and Baylor-specific processesDevelop a strategy to work with students throughout the financial aid processReview students within assigned territory and make scholarship recommendations while counseling students on merit-based scholarship eligibility, scholarship program opportunities, scholarship appeals, and outside funding opportunitiesDetermine strategies and techniques to highlight the value of a Baylor education with prospective families while advocating and supporting their unique situationProperly train and complete increased conversations around the value and return on investment of higher education and financial literacy around how to finance a Baylor educationProfessional sales training requiredRegularly cross-train with financial aid including the use of financial aid operating systems.Create and sustain high-quality relationships with Baylor's feeder high schools; regularly updating college counseling staff at select high schools on Baylor's admission policies and university programsCommunicate frequently with high school counselors regarding their applicants to drive file completion and post-acceptance to support and assist with questions about the enrollment processWork with Admissions Counseling Leadership team to administrate enrollment goals and strategic planning as neededDevelop and execute an individualized admissions recruitment and sales strategyAchieve yearly territory goals and subgroups regarding Strategic Enrollment Management (SEM) populations and prioritiesPerform analysis regarding admission activities and resultsMaintain assigned duties to deliver results throughout the year to ensure strategies and tasks are completedCommunicate with leadership about priorities and needs to ensure regional perspectives are integrated into the broader strategyStrategize high-impact recruitment initiatives in a highly competitive landscapeCoordinate, manage & host outstanding off-campus recruitment eventsStrategically identify areas to host events, secure venues, process contracts, and develop new initiatives specific to the needs of regional marketsAssist in creating and executing on-campus, university recruitment events requiring travel to campus for in-person eventsOffer virtual recruitment event opportunities to connect with prospective students and families throughout the enrollment processServe on team leading the planning and execution of offering compelling admissions counseling presentations for students and familiesPartner with Baylor constituents in key markets to develop cohesive Baylor presence in territoryPlan and host recruitment initiatives with Parent Engagement, University Advancement, Alumni Engagement, and other Baylor constituents.Actively strengthen our presence and consistently engage with the regional admissions network in territory while driving strategic initiativesStrategically collaborate, communicate, and engage within the network as a form of professional development and resource sharing to meet common goalsLead and/or coordinate regional events and initiatives within the network and community such as school presentations, college fairs, application nights, etc.Provide training and support to regional staff to enhance their capacity and effectiveness.Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor's missionAbility to comply with University policiesMaintain regular and punctual attendanceWhat You Can ExpectAs part of the Baylor family, eligible employees receive a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, generous time off, tuition remission, and outstanding automatic retirement contributions.
